Cyclones Set To Open Season At Fighting Irish Classic

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State men's golf team opens up the 2022-23 season Sept. 4-5 at the Fighting Irish Classic in South Bend, Ind.

The Notes:
- Head Coach, Andrew Tank, heads into his 13th season. Assistant Coach, Ruben Sondjaja, will begin his second season.
- Nate Vance returns to the Cyclone lineup as the only senior. Vance finished last season with a 73.40 stroke average.
- Luke Gutschewski earned stroke-play medalist honors at the 2022 U.S. Amateur Championship.
- The Cyclones added three freshmen to the squad (Kyo Morishita, Zach May, Paul Beauvy).
- Iowa State graduated four seniors last season (Lachlan Barker, Ricky Costello, Frank Lindwall, Josh Hetherington).
- Lukas Pany enters the Cyclone starting lineup heading into the Fighting Irish Classic. Last season, Pany compiled a 78.25 stroke average; carded a 73 in the final round of the Big 12 Championship.
