PLAYER TO WATCH
Thasaporn Naklo ranks eighth in school history with 121 career victories and is currently riding a seven-match singles win streak as she continues to climb the Cyclone record books. The senior from Bangkok, Thailand, has only been pushed to three sets in one of her 11 wins during the 2022-23 season.
Naklo's next singles victory will vault her into Iowa State's top five for career singles wins. She enters the weekend with a 64-33 singles record.
CYCLONE TENNIS QUICK HIT
Iowa State is 3-1 in season openers under head coach Boomer Saia. Saia is in his seventh season coaching the Cyclones and owns a 45-32 career mark as head coach, which includes a 30-15 record the last two seasons.
EXPERIENCE MATTERS
All seven Cyclones return from last year's NCAA Tournament qualifier. ISU adds a freshman in Xinyi Nong to the roster for this spring.
LOOKING FOR THREE IN A ROW
The Cyclones are looking to advance to their third-straight NCAA Tournament after making the first two appearances in school history in 2021 and 2022. Naklo was ISU's first individual qualifier a season ago, winning her first round match before falling in the second round.
