AMES, Iowa – The track and field season will officially get underway with the Boston University Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener Saturday, Dec. 2.
Iowa State will send four women and two men to compete in distance events. Dana Feyen, Madelynn Hill, Maelle Porcher and Janette Schraft will compete for the women and Sanele Masondo and Gable Sieperda will run for the men in the 5,000-meter. Porcher is also entered in the 3,000m.
The meet will be streamed by FloTrack and live results will be done by Lancer Timing. The women's 3,000m is scheduled to begin at 1:55 p.m. The women's 5,000m is scheduled to begin at 3:25 p.m. and the men are slated for 5:25 p.m.
Iowa State will run among top finishers in the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships. Porcher and Masondo will begin their first track and field season at Iowa State following successful cross country seasons. The duo, along with the Feyen, Hill, Schraft and Sieperda all earned All-Region honors as both the men's and women's team moved onto NCAA Championships, with the men finishing fifth and women 20th. Masondo raced to 16th overall, earning All-America honors.
Following the BU Season Opener, Iowa State will host the ISU Holiday Invite Dec. 8 and 9.
