AMES, Iowa – No. 6 Iowa State is on the road again as it travels to Norfolk, Va. to go head-to-head with 2022 NCAA Tournament qualifier Old Dominion.

The Series
Saturday marks the second all-time meeting between the Cyclones and Monarchs. Old Dominion defeated Iowa State, 5-2, in February of 2010 when the teams last met.
Last Time Out
The Cyclones had a historic weekend at the ITA Indoor National Championships. On Friday, Iowa State earned its new highest ranked win with a, 4-3, victory over No. 9 Vanderbilt. The Cyclones turned around and did it again on Saturday in the quarterfinals with a commanding, 4-1, upset over No. 1 Texas. That marked the first ever win against the Longhorns. Sunday in the semifinals, Iowa State's run would come to an end after it fell to No. 5 Georgia, 4-2, despite forcing the final two matches into third sets. Player to Watch
Miska Kadleckova has started her junior dual season out strong. She comes into this weekend off an impressive showing at the ITA Indoor National Championships in which she earned Big 12 Player of the Week honors and a spot on the all-tournament team. The junior went 3-0 in singles action, including two wins over ranked opponents and a match clinching victory against No. 1 Texas.
Kadleckova has rattled off 12 straight singles victories, with four of those victories over ranked opponents. With 23 career wins at the No. 3 singles spot, she is one victory away from putting herself tied for first place in Iowa State history. This season, she has a singles record of 20-5, leading her team in winning percentage with .800.
Cyclone Tennis Quick Hit
Senior Thasaporn Naklo and sophomore Anna Supapitch Kuearum are rolling while playing together in doubles. The duo have a team-best 12-2 record, including a 5-1 record in dual matches. They have also taken down two ranked opponents in their 15 matches together this season. Naklo has a career doubles record of 64-37 in doubles which puts her tied for sixth all-time in program history.
In the Rankings
Head coach Boomer Saia and his team checked in at No. 6 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association top-25 coaches poll. This is the highest ranking awarded to the Cyclones in program history and marks 17-straight weeks in the national poll.
The ranking comes off an impressive last three weeks for Iowa State. In its last seven matches, the team has taken down then No. 18 UCLA, No. 10 Miami, No. 9 Vanderbilt, and No. 1 Texas. All of which were the program's highest ranked wins at the time.
