URBANDALE, Iowa – No. 10 Iowa State earned a 4-2 win over Kansas State Sunday afternoon at Life Time Fitness as head coach Boomer Saia tied the school record for conference wins in a coaching career.
Saia won his 13th conference match at the school, tying former Cyclone head coach Michelle Conlon.
With the win, Iowa State improves to 12-2 overall and 2-0 in Big 12 action, while K-State falls to 2-12 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
Iowa State easily clinched the doubles point with wins on the second and third courts. Miska Kadleckova and Sofia Cabezas won their sixth consecutive decision with a 6-0 victory over Florentine Dekkers and Aleen Quamar. Ange Oby Kajuru and Xinyi Nong took a 6-1 win at No.2 doubles to earn ISU the point.
Kajuru put the Cyclones up 2-0 with a quick 6-2, 6-2 win on the second court over Rosanna Maffei, but K-State would strike next as Dekkers defeated Thasaporn Naklo, 6-3, 6-3, on court one.
Chie Kezuka took care of Aleen Quamar, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 6 singles as ISU went up 3-1.
After K-State won at No. 3 singles, Sofia Cabezas earned a 6-4, 6-3 win and clinched the match for the Cyclones.

Iowa State returns to action on Friday, March 24 after a week off. The Cyclones will face Texas at 2:30 p.m. on the Longhorn Network.
