AMES, Iowa – No. 6 Iowa State is back in action this weekend as it heads south for a pair of Big 12 road matches. The Cyclones will take on No. 14 Texas and No. 59 Baylor on Friday and Sunday, respectively. Coming off wins against Kansas and Kansas State, ISU has an overall record of 12-2 in dual matches this season and is 2-0 in conference play.

The Series
Texas currently leads the series against Iowa State, 26-1. However, the Cyclones took down then No. 1 Longhorns, 4-1, in the quarterfinals of the ITA Indoor National Championships for its first win against Texas and the highest-ranked win in program history.
Head coach Boomer Saia and his squad are looking for the program's second-ever win, and first-ever road win, against Baylor as the Bears currently lead the series 28-1 against Iowa State. Baylor beat Iowa State, 4-3, in Ames in 2019.

Player to Watch
Entering the first conference road matches of the season, No. 53 Ange Oby Kajuru is 12-1 in singles dual matches. The sophomore finished her last two matches 4-0 combined in both doubles and singles matches, garnering her Big 12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the third time in her career.
With 25 wins at the No. 2 singles spot, Kajuru ranks third all-time in Iowa State history. She is just seven wins away from first place and eight wins away from setting a new school record.
Cyclone Tennis Quick Hit
After last weekend, Saia owns a career record of 57-34, making him the third winningest coach in school history. His next conference victory will set a new program record, making him the winningest coach against Big 12 opponents with 14.
In the Rankings
The Cyclones checked in at No. 6 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's weekly rankings, marking 22 consecutive weeks the team has been represented in the rankings. Iowa State once again has three singles players ranked and two doubles teams ranked
Senior Thasaporn Naklo leads the team at No. 51, and Kajuru is just two spots behind her at No. 53. Junior Miska Kadleckova is also ranked at No. 96.
In doubles, Kajuru and Kezuka highlight the rankings at the No. 45 spot. Naklo and Supapitch Kuearum are just a few spots back as they were ranked as the No. 52 doubles team in the nation.
No. 14 Texas has four singles players represented in the ITA's most recent rankings. Junior Charlotte Chavatipon leads her peers at No. 66. Nicole Khirin follows 10 spots back at No. 76, Marlee Zein sits at No. 104, and Sabina Zeynalova rounds out the rankings at No. 110.
The two doubles teams ranked for the Longhorns are No. 41 Chavatipon/Zeynalova and No. 48 Khirin/ Zein
No. 59 Baylor has two singles players in the rankings, and they are No. 94 Isabella Harvison and No. 124 Alina Shcherbinina.
