AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State divers head to Minneapolis, for the 2023 Zone 'D' Diving Championships. The event takes place from Tuesday to Thursday. Four Cyclone divers will compete through the three events.
Competition begins Tuesday on the 3-meter, followed on Wednesday with the 1-meter and concludes Thursday on the platform. Events begin at 11 a.m. each day. Joscelyn Buss, Jayna Misra, Ally Blumenfeld, and Kate Mitchell will dive on both springboards while Buss and Misra are also set to contend on the platform.
At the Big 12 Championships, eight more Zone cuts were secured as the Cyclones combined for 36 this season.
Buss has dove to five qualifying scores on the 1-meter and one on the platform as she earned 10 on the 3-meter. The junior has made the top-performers list on the 1-meter (10th, 292.30) and 3-meter (fifth, 315.15) this season.
Misra has six Zone cuts to her name through six competitions. The senior holds the current second-highest 1-meter score in Iowa State history.
Blumenfeld adjusted the freshmen record books on the 3-meter as she claims the third best performance by a freshman with a score of 303.68. She has attained five Zone cuts this season.
Mitchell secured three Zone cuts on the 3-meter and two on the 1-meter for her freshman year.
