AMES, Iowa - The Cyclonitas will continue their season Saturday Sept. 23 in Norman Okla. at the Schooner Fall Classic. Last year the Iowa State women's golf team finished seventh out of 16 teams.Â
The Lineup: Liyana Durisic, Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn, Tess Blair, Keeley Marx, Pammy Chookaew
The Course: The Belmar Golf Club opened over 20 years ago and provides a challenge to even the most skilled golfer. In 2018 Alabama tied for the fourth-best 54-hole score in NCAA history at this course.Â
KEY STORYLINES
- Iowa State returns four golfers from last season's NCAA Regional lineup in Pammy Chookaew, Ruby Chou, Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn and Liyana Durisic.Â
- Iowa State added a pair to the roster this year in freshman Keeley Marx and transfer Tess Blair.Â
- Blair spent the first four years of her career at Sacramento State, where she earned First Team All-Big Sky honors all four years. She was also the 2020 Big Sky Freshman of the Year and the Big Sky Player of the Year. She earned medalist honors at the 2021 Big Sky Championship.Â
- ISU set the lowest 54-hole score in NCAA history with a 60-under 804 total at the 2023 MountainView Collegiate. Chul-Ak-Sorn won the event, tying the NCAA record at 25-under par.Â
- The Cyclones earned two team victories last season (MountainView Collegiate, San Diego State Classic).
