Cyclonitas Complete The Chevron Collegiate

HUMBLE, Tex. - At the end of the two-day Chevron Collegiate, the Cyclonitas had a score of 13-under-par to place in a tie for seventh with No. 38 Tennessee.

No. 34 SMU won the Chevron Collegiate with a score of 33-under-par, four strokes better than No. 44 Maryland who came in second. Isabel Sy from Illinois and Nicha Kanpai from No. 44 Maryland ended in a tie for first place.

Sophomore Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn ended in a tie for 13th, her best finish for the 2023-24 season. Chul-Ak-Sorn carded a three-round 208, one stroke better than her previous season best at the Schooner Fall Classic. Chul-Ak-Sorn's score of 208 will place her for the record book for the fifth time for Low 54-Hole Tournament. Sophomore Pammy Chookaew carded her season low round of 66 in the second round of the tournament as well as her low three-round score of 212. Chookaew had 13 birdies throughout the three-rounds of The Chevron Collegiate.

Senior Tess Blair ended in a tie for 34th and carded a low season three-round score of 214, three strokes better than her previous 217. Liyana Durisic also carded a new three-round season low of 217 with eight birdies throughout the tournament. Freshman Keeley Marx ended in a tie for 83 with a three-round score of 229.

This brings the Cyclonitas to the end of their February schedule. The Iowa State women's golf team will continue their season at the MountainView Intercollegiate in Tucson, Ariz. This is a three-day tournament beginning of Friday, March 15 and concluding Sunday, March 17.
