Horton Inks A Pair Of Golfers For Next Season

AMES, Iowa - Iowa State head men's golf coach Jay Horton announced today the signing of two golfers for the 2006-07 season. Cedric Bertin, a native of Bruz, France, and Ross Menke, a Sioux Falls, S.D., native, will enroll in school in the Fall of 2006.
Bertin has played the last two seasons for Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, helping Kirkwood place 10th at the 2005 NJCAA national tournament. He has won three tournaments in his career, including titles at the Kirkwood and Central College Invitationals this season.
"Cedric is an outstanding player who will make an immediate impact on our team next season," Horton said. "He already is coming to us with collegiate experience and the confidence to compete at the highest level."
Menke led Sioux Falls Roosevelt to the state championship title in 2005, finishing third as an individual. He was runner-up at the AJGA Kansas City Junior Tournament in 2005.
"I am excited to have Ross joining us next season," Horton said. "I believe Ross will have a tremendous future here at Iowa State and he will push for some playing time early on in his career."
