RENO, Nev. ? Joe Cermak stands in first place after shooting a 139 (68-71) to lead Iowa State Monday in the first two rounds of the Wolf Pack Classic in Reno, Nev. The Cyclones are currently second in the team standings trailing Arizona by four strokes.
Cermak, a senior from Chicago, Ill., fired a 4-under par in his first 18 holes for his lowest single-round total of the season. Tom Whitney of Air Force and a duo of Arizona linksters, Tarquin MacManus and Tyler Neal, trail Cermak by a single stroke.
Senior Cyclone Chris Baker also found success in Reno, shooting a 141 (70-71) that places him in a tie for fifth. Johnny Larson, Ross Menke, and Cedric Bertin also took the course today for ISU.
The final 18 holes will be played tomorrow with a 10 a.m. shotgun-start.
