Baker Leads, Team Third After Day One

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. ? Chris Baker's sensational shooting continued Saturday at the Eisenhower Golf Club. The senior from Brownstown, Ind., carded a 66-69 in the first two rounds of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational to take a two-shot lead heading into the final round tomorrow. Baker was medalist in ISU's first meet on Tuesday, a victory at the Big Four Championship.
Overall, ISU is in third place with a team score of 569 (286-283). UTEP and Wichita State are the only teams ahead of Iowa State, carding scores of 556 and 566, respectively. Xavier and Colorado Springs round out the top five.
ISU's Joe Cermak and Cedric Bertin are both tied for 16th after shooting a two-round score of 144.
The 18-team tournament resumes tomorrow with the final 18 holes set to tee off at 8:15 a.m.
