Bertin Takes Charge in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. - Cedric Bertin fired a second-round 69 Monday
afternoon, as Iowa State is in fifth place after the first day of the
Rio Pinar Invitational. The Bruz, France native shot a two round
total of 140 (71-69) to position him into a tie for sixth place after two rounds.

Ben Herrera, playing in only his second meet of his ISU career, carded
his first sub-par round as a Cyclone, shooting a 2-under-par 70 in the second round. The Wisconsin transfer ended the day in a tie for
16th.

Seniors Joe Cermak and Chris Baker are each in the top 50 in the 93-
player field, finishing in a tie for 26th and 44th, respectively. Also
competing for the Cyclones is freshman Nathan Leary.

Host Central Florida leads the team standings, shooting a team-best 274 in the
second round to give the Knights a 36-hole total of 561. UCF's Greg Forest is currently atop the individual leaderboard, holding a two-stroke advantage over teammate Mike Stern.

Play will conclude tomorrow with the final 18 holes.
