NASHVILLE, Tenn. ? Nate McCoy fired the lowest round of his young Cyclone career, a 71, Saturday afternoon at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Nashville, Tenn. The West Des Moines native is currently tied for 36th among all individuals. ISU shot a team score of 289, knocking off 16 strokes from their previous round of 305. South Carolina leads the team race and Ben Fuqna of Kentucky leads all individuals.
Four golfers, McCoy, Michael Wuertz, Ross Menke and Thomas Lathrop combined to give the Cyclones 13 birdies on the day. Junior Ben Herrera shot a 74 and eagled the par-5 No. 6.
The Mason Rudolph Championship will wrap up Sunday after an additional 18 holes. Final results will be posted to cyclones.com after competition concludes.
