MOBILE, Alabama- The Iowa State men's golf team sits in seventh place after the first day of the Mobile Bay Invitational tournament. The Cyclones tallied a 296 and are just six shots out of first place. Vanderbilt took early command of the 18-team field after carding a first round score of 290.

Nate McCoy who shot a two-under par in round one leads ISU. Mccoy (70) is in second place overall heading into the second round of action. Ben Herrera (73) finds himself in a tie for 16th place, well within striking distance of the top-ten. Kent Bulle of Middle Tennessee State is atop the individual leaderboard with a 67.
