Cyclones Feature in WIN Magazine's First Rankings

AMES, Iowa – Wrestling Insider Newsmagazine (WIN) has released its first preseason NCAA Division I individual rankings for the 2010-11 season.
Iowa State wrestlers have become a fixture in WIN Magazine, and this year is no different with three Cyclones in the top 20 of their respective weights.
Cyclone junior Jerome Ward is the highest-rated returning Iowa State wrestler, coming in as the seventh-ranked 184-pounder in the nation. Ward defeated numerous top-10 opponents in the regular season last year, before going 1-2 at the NCAA Championships.
Senior and two-time All-American Jon Reader is rated eighth at 174 pounds, after spending the first three years of his career at the 165-pound weight class.
Chris Drouin, a senior transfer, comes into the 2010-11 season rated 12th at 141 pounds. Drouin was an All-American at Arizona State in the 2008-09 season with a sixth-place finish.
The Cyclones open their season Nov. 6 in Salem, Va. with duals against Kent State and Virginia Tech. On Nov. 7 Iowa State will take part in the Hokie Open, which also takes place in Salem.
