SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Iowa State men's golf team is currently in 12th place after shooting a two-round 589 on the first day of the Oak Hills Invitational Monday in San Antonio. Texas Tech is the team leader going into the final round, firing a 550, eight strokes ahead of second place North Texas.
Nate McCoy is off to a great start in the spring opener, currently sitting in 15th place among all golfers with a two-round 142 (71-71) total.
Michael Wuertz is tied for 40th after firing a 147. The individual leader is Tyler Weworski of Texas Tech, who enters tomorrow's final round of play with a single-shot lead (134).
The final 18 holes of action will start tomorrow at 8:00 a.m.
