PALM DESERT, Calif. - The Iowa State men's golf team finished 12th out of 24 teams at the Desert Shootout this afternoon. The Cyclones shot a three-round 885 total, seven strokes behind 11th-place Arizona. UNLV won the tournament at 844.

Iowa State's Nate McCoy carded a 69 in the final round to help the senior finish in a tie for 27th. It was McCoy's 11th sub-70 round of his career. McCoy shot rounds of 73-75-69 for a 217 tally. Sam Daley finished in a tie for 52nd, carding a 222 (75-71-76). Borja Virto placed 65th at 224 (73-74-77),

Iowa State's next tournament is March 16-17 at the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas.
