Golfers Prepare For LSU Invitational

AMES, Iowa- The Iowa State men's golf team prepares for the LSU Invitational this weekend. The Cyclones, ranked 61st nationally in the latest Golfstat rankings, are aiming for their first NCAA Regional berth since 1999.
Iowa State is led by senior Nate McCoy, who is ranked 72nd nationally according to Golfstat. McCoy leads the team in stroke average (71.75) and is coming off his 11th top-10 performance of his career at the Border Olympics. McCoy's single-season stroke average is on pace to rank second all-time in school history.
Freshman Scott Fernandez also had a solid showing last week in Laredo, Texas, tying for fifth, his third top-10 effort this year. Fernandez is second on the team in stroke average at 72.95.
