BATON ROUGE, La. — After two rounds of play at the David Toms Intercollegiate, the Iowa State men's golf team is tied for eighth with a two-round 623 total (318-305). Southeastern Louisiana and LSU are in a tie for the lead at 596.
The Cyclones were led by senior Sam Daley, who fired rounds of 75 and 77. Daley's 152 tally places him in a tie for 16th. Sophomore Ruben Sondjaja came back with a 74 in the afternoon round after a score of 80 in round one to sit in a tie for 25th (154). LSU's Benjamin Taylor (74-69=143) and Zach Wright (73-73=146) are the leaders in the medalist race.
Senior Scott Fernandez is tied for 43rd after recording rounds of 83 and 76.
The tournament will conclude tomorrow with the final round of 18 holes.
