Iowa Invitational (Divers Only)

IOWA CITY, Iowa – After a rocky start to the 2014 Iowa Invitational, junior diver Elyse Brouillette capped off the weekend with a finals appearance in the platform event. Brouillette posted the team high-score for Iowa State with a 199.10-point seventh place finish.
“It was important for her to have a strong finish, something that she could take away from the meet feeling good about,” Iowa State head diving coach Jeff Warrick said. “She definitely showed signs of improvement in her mental approach going from prelims to finals.”
Warrick's squad will return to the diving well at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center next weekend alongside the Iowa State swimmers to take on the Hawkeyes in the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series. The Cyclone divers are more comfortable with the boards and the facility, setting up for a competitive meet, Warrick said.
“It's really going to come down to making each dive count,” Warrick said. “I want to put them in pressure situations during practice this week so they can relax and just dive the way they know how in the meet.”
