AMES, Iowa – Iowa State men's golfer Sam Daley was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Daley is one of a total of 207 Division I golfers to earn the award.
To be eligible for this award, the student-athlete must be a junior or senior, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76 and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2.
Daley, a junior from Wynnum, Australia, played in all 13 tournaments for the Cyclones, finishing the season with an 18-hole stroke average of 72.46. The junior linkster met all of the other requirements while majoring in finance.
Daley finished in the top-10 in three tournaments in 2013-14 for the Cyclones with two top-5s and recorded six sub-70 rounds. Daley was the top scorer for the Cyclones in four tournaments.
