ISU Jumps to Eighth at Desert Intercollegiate

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – The second round of the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate is in the books, as the Cyclones moved up five spots into eighth place after carding a 295 this afternoon (590). Texas Tech extended its lead to nine strokes after firing a 282 (563).
Senior Sam Daley led the Cyclones, leaping nearly twenty spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 18th after shooting an even-par (72) to bring his two-day tally to 145. Texas Tech's Clement Sordet is running away with the medalist race after firing a 65 to hold a six-shot lead.
Linksters Ruben Sondjaja and Scott Fernandez fired a 74 and 72, respectively, to sit in a tie for 45th (149). Sophomore Nick Voke is just one stroke back at 150 to put him in a tie for 55th.
The tournament concludes with the final round tomorrow.
