Fernandez And Voke Tied For Second At General Hackler

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Iowa State men's golf team is in third place after two rounds of the General Hackler Championship in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The Cyclones carded rounds of 293 and 290 for a two-round 583 tally. North Carolina State is in first place at 571.
ISU has a pair of individuals who are in the hunt for medalist honors in Scott Fernandez and Nick Voke. The duo are currently tied for second and are two shots out of the lead at 140 (4-under).
Fernandez, who was the medalist at the Cyclones' previous tournament, carded rounds of 69 and 71. Voke caught fire in the afternoon round, bouncing back from a first-round 75 with a blistering 65 in the second round.
Voke, who had seven birdies and an eagle on his card in the last 18 holes to tie for the third best score in school history, is just the fourth Cyclone in school history to go 7-under in a round.
Cyclone Ruben Sondjaja is currently tied for 47th at 151.
The third and final round will conclude tomorrow afternoon.
