Cyclones Lead After Two Rounds at Hawkeye Invite

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa State men's golf team leads the field at the Hawkeye Invitational after two rounds of play. The Cyclones fired rounds of 284 and 279 (563) to hold a one shot lead over Iowa (564).
Three Cyclones are in the top-10 heading into the final round.
Senior All-American Scott Fernandez carded a first-round 70 and followed it up with his ninth sub-70 round (68) of the season to sit in a tie for second at 138. His second round 68 featured four birdies and one eagle. Iowa State recorded four eagles on the day.
Sophomore Ruben Sondjaja is tied for fourth and is just one stroke back of Fernandez at 139 (69-70). His first-round 69 was his first sub-70 this season. Sam Daley is also in the top-10 (T8th) with a 141 (73-68) and Nick Voke carded a 145 (T24). Daley had five birdies and just one bogey in the afternoon round.
The Hawkeye Invitational concludes with the final round tomorrow.
