Fernandez Named All-Region For Third-Straight Season

SARASOTA, Fla. – Iowa State senior golfer Scott Fernandez was named to the PING All-Central team, announced this week by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Fernandez, who ended his career as ISU's career record-holder in stroke average (72.09), top-10 finishes (29) and victories (4), is the first Cyclone to earn all-region honors multiple times in a career (2013, 2014, 2015).
A native of Granada, Spain, Fernandez ended the 2014-15 campaign ranked 91st nationally while leading the team in stroke average (71.89), the fifth-best single-season mark in school history. He also led the team in top-10 finishes (8) and sub-70 rounds (10).
Fernandez, an All-American in 2013, tied for 10th at the 2015 Big 12 Championship, becoming just the second Cyclone in school history to earn all-tournament honors multiple times at a conference meet.
