Voke In Top-10 After Carding a 66 In Second Round

LA QUINTA, Calif. – The Iowa State men's golf team climbed to 11th place after the second round of The Prestige at PGA West tournament at the Greg Norman Course. The tournament features six teams currently rated in the top-30 of the Golfstat national rankings.
The Cyclones carded a 283 (303-283=586) in the second round, ranking among the top-five low scores of the day. Arizona leads the pack with a score of 556 (287-269).
The front-runner for the Cyclones is Nick Voke, who jumps into a tie for eighth place after posting a blistering 5-under 66 today. Voke has a two-day 139 total in the medalist race. Voke had seven birdies today and his only blemish was a double-bogey on the par-3 seventh hole. His 66 was a season low and the 19th sub-70 round of his career.
Ruben Sondjaja is in a tie for 41st (148) and freshman Jon Hudson is in a tie for 50th (150) after carding a pair of 72s today. Hudson's round was a career low.
The third and final round begins tomorrow morning.
