Cyclones Finish 11th In Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Iowa State men's golf team wrapped up play at the General Hackler Championship this afternoon. The Cyclones fired a 297 in the final round, bringing their total for the tournament to 888 (292-299-297), which was good for an 11th-place finish.

South Carolina took home the team title after recording a three-round 841 total (281-279-281).

For the second day in a row, sophomore Denzel Ieremia paced the Cyclones in scoring. He fired a final round of 73 to finish with a 54-hole tally of 217 to tie for 27th. His second-round 71 tied his career low.

Juniors Nick Voke (69-76-76=221) and Ruben Sondjaja (72-77-73=222) both turned in top-45 finishes for the Cardinal and Gold. Voke came in tied for 41st and Sondjaja tied for 43rd, respectively.

Iowa State will return to the links on March 18-19 at the Desert Shootout in Goodyear, Ariz.
