EUGENE, Ore. – Iowa State junior golfer Nick Voke was honored for his sensational season this afternoon, earning a spot on the 2016 PING All-Central Region Team. The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) picked Voke as one of 25 members on the Central Region team.
Voke led the Cyclones with a 71.54 stroke average, the second-best scoring mark in school history. The Auckland, New Zealand native finished in the top-10 in six tournaments, including his third career tournament title at the National Invitation Tournament.
Voke, who ended the season ranked 66th nationally by Golfweek, was named All-Big 12 First Team and became the first Cyclone in school history to place in the top-10 at the Big 12 Championship three times by finishing eighth.
He earned an individual spot at the NCAA Stillwater Regional, tying for 22nd.
Voke joins Scott Fernandez, Nate McCoy and Chris Baker as the only Cyclones to receive the honor.
