Kinney Earns HM All-America Accolades By Ping

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State junior golfer Tripp Kinney was named as a Ping Honorable Mention All-American, announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Kinney recently wrapped up one of the finest seasons in Iowa State men's golf history, breaking the school's single-season scoring mark (71.08) and earning a trip to the NCAA Championships as an individual.

A native of Waukee, Iowa, Kinney led the team in sub-70 rounds (14), top-10 finishes (6) and was at par or below in 28 of his 37 rounds.

Kinney secured a spot at the NCAA Championship by winning his first career tournament title at the NCAA Louisville Regional, carding rounds of 69-65-72 (206). He also made the Big 12 All-Tournament Team by tying for eighth at the Big 12 Championship.

Kinney made the 54-hole cut at the NCAA Championship, finishing in a tie for 47^th at the national meet. He ended the season ranked No. 48 nationally by Golfweek.
