Vincent Announces Return In 2020-21

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior golfer Sam Vincent isn't done with this Cyclone career just yet.

Vincent was wrapping up what would've been his final year of eligibility this past year until it all abruptly came to an end when the NCAA canceled the remainder of the season due to threats of COVID-19.

The NCAA announced last week that all spring sport student-athletes were granted an extra year of eligibility, a decision the Iowa State Athletics Department and Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard strongly endorsed.

Vincent announced his decision to return via the Iowa State Men's Golf twitter page this morning.

A native of Hamilton, New Zealand, Vincent has been a regular in the Iowa State lineup for the past four seasons. Vincent, who made the Big 12 All-Tournament team in 2018, has competed in two NCAA Championships as a Cyclone (2017 and 2018).

Vincent posted a 72.82 stroke average in 2018-19 and averaged 73.78 strokes per round this past season.
