Kinney Repeats As All-Region Selection

AMES, Iowa – For the second consecutive season, Iowa State senior Tripp Kinney has been named to the Division I Ping All-Central Region Team, announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Kinney had another outstanding season on the links, breaking Iowa State's season scoring record at 70.89. Kinney also led the team in rounds below par (9), top-10 finishes (3) and birdies (63) during the 2019-20 campaign.

A native of Waukee, Iowa, Kinney ended the season ranked No. 68 nationally by Golfstat.

Kinney was an honorable mention All-American and was an individual qualifier to the NCAA Championship in 2018-19. He has 11 top-10 finishes in his career.

With the NCAA decision to grant an additional season of eligibility for spring sport athletes, Kinney announced earlier in the week he will return for his fifth and final season in 2020-21.

An Iowa State golfer has made All-Region in eight of the last nine seasons: Nate McCoy (2012), Scott Fernandez (2013-15), Nick Voke (2016-17), Tripp Kinney (2019-20).
