AMES, Iowa - Iowa State will be sending its women's sprints/hurdles/jumps group to Virginia Tech this weekend for the Doc Hale Elite Meet. Compeition at Rector Field House in Blacksburg will take place on Friday and Saturday. Field and running events begin at 4 p.m. Central on Friday, while Saturday's slate will see field events start at 10 a.m. Central and running events at 1 p.m.

Led by assistant coach Frank Rizzo, the group of Cyclones headed to VaTech have had a busy 2021, with many getting ready for their fifth competition of the season. Four Cyclones are entered into two individual events. Tatiana Aholou is already in ISU's all-time top-10s for three different events, though she will not be looking to move up the 60m hurdles list this week, she (along with Erika Furbeck) are entered in the 60m dash and the long jump.
Kaylyn Hall and Katarina Vlahovic are both entered in the 200m dash and 60m hurdles. Vlahovic has ISU's top mark on hte season in the hurdles (8.42), while Hall notched season-bests in both events last weekend at the Razorback Invitational.
Another strong performer in Fayetteville last weekend was Maggie Davis, who dropped two seconds off her PR in the 800-meter run to get down to 2:10.65. She will be in the 800 again this weekend, along with Laurel Hoogensen.
In the field, Jalaiya Bartley had her best effort in the triple jump in nearly two years last weekend at Arkansas, going 40-9 3/4 (12.44m). She will get another chance to improve that mark on Saturday.
