Cyclones FInish Day Two At The Big 12 Match Play Championship

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State men's golf team completed day two of the Big 12 Match Play Championship in Hockley, TX. The Cyclones finished the first two days with a 2-11-5 record against Texas Tech, TCU and Texas.
Paul Beauvy won the first match for the Cyclones with a 1UP victory over Brent Hamm. Beauvy recorded two tied matches against Texas Tech's Baard Skogen and Keaton Vo of Texas. For the Cyclones, Beauvy currently holds the team's best record at 1-0-2.
Kyo Morishita claimed a 5&4 win over Mason Nome, of Texas. Morishita was six-up going into his eighth hole of the match and closed it out on the 14th hole of the match. Morishita holds a 1-1-1 record going into the final day tomorrow.
Nate Vance tied Alejandro Gonzalez through their 18-hole match. The match went back-and-forth with Vance securing a tie Vance will go into the final day with a 0-2-1 record.
Lukas Pany also tied in his match against J. Sosa. Pany will join Vance with an 0-2-1 record going into the final day. Â
Iowa State will conclude the Big 12 Match Play Championship along with their fall season on Wednesday, Oct. 19.
