COLUMBIA, Missouri – The Iowa State divers continue their first championship-style meet at the Mizzou Invite, wrapping up day two on the 1-meter boards. Three of the four Cyclone divers, Jayna Misra, Joscelyn Buss, and Kate Mitchell made finals for their scores during the prelims.
Misra claimed the top spot from her teammates, landing in seventh place with a score of 253.90 in the finals. Buss earned ninth place with Mitchell treading behind in 10th place. With a three-point score difference, Buss earned 247.65 and Mitchell earned 244.65.
During prelims, Misra represented the Cyclones with a top placement of sixth. She earned a score of 261.70, nearly three points behind the top five divers. Buss scored 249.25, ending in eighth place for the quarterfinals. In 10th place was Mitchell, landing her a spot in the finals for the first time. She scored 245.55 and Ally Blumenfeld scored 233.00 to place in 12th.
The divers will finish out on the platforms for the first time this season tomorrow at noon. The swimmers will compete in the Kansas Classic starting tomorrow with prelims at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
