AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State women's golf team will tee it up at the Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. to open their 2022-23 season. The Cyclones are coming off one of the best seasons in school history with a 12-straight NCAA Regional appearance and two individuals that qualified for the NCAA National Championships (Ruby Chou, Taglao Jeeravivitaporn). The Notes:
- This summer, Taglao Jeeravivitaporn qualified for the 2022 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship and won the Western Women's Amateur Championship.
- Ruby Chou claimed the Iowa Women's Amateur title and Liyana Durisic won the Malaysian Amateur Championship – Closed this summer.
- Two new faces enter the Cyclone lineup in freshmen, Pammy Chookaew and Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn.
- Last season, Iowa State qualified for its 12-straight NCAA Regional and finished ninth at the NCAA Stanford Regional.
- Chou and Jeeravivitaporn qualified for the NCAA National Championships as individuals. Jeeravivitaporn tied for 17th and became the second player in school history to finish in the top 20 at the NCAA Championships.
- Jeeravivitaporn earned a pair of All-American honors from the Women's Golf Coaches Association and GolfWeek last season, becoming the first Cyclone to earn honors from either organization.
