Iowa State In Fourth After Day One Of The Hawkeye Invitational

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa State men's golf team concluded day one of the Hawkeye Invitational in a tie for fourth place with a 286-round one score. Teams continued into the second round before play was suspended due to darkness.
Paul Beauvy leads the Cyclones at three-under-par for the tournament. The freshman fired a round-one score of 69 that included five birdies. Beauvy played nine holes of the second round and sits in a tie for seventh place.
Luke Gutschewski and Zach May carded a pair of first-round 72s to place in a tie for 16th. May continued into round two and played his first nine holes at one under. Gutschewski was even through half of his second round and sits in a tie for 21st.
Nate Vance and Lukas Pany placed in a tie for 26th after round one. Vance and Pany carded rounds of 73, and Pany was one-under to open his second round. Vance sits at one-over through his first nine holes of round two.
Hunter Johnson participated as an individual and carded a five-over 77 in round one. Johnson played half of his second round and currently sits in a tie for 52nd place. Â
Teams will resume the second round at 9:00 a.m. CT on Saturday, Apr. 14. The final round of the Hawkeye Invitational will follow after the completion of the second round.
