Iowa State In 10th After Day One Of The Big 12 Men's Golf Championship

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The Iowa State men's golf team concluded the first day of the Big 12 Men's Golf Championship in 10th place. The Cyclones carded a 599 (299-300) three-round total to finish with a 39-over tally.
Paul Beauvy led the Cyclones through the first two rounds. The freshman carded a first round 72 and followed it up with a four-over 74 to post a 146 total. Beauvy will head into the third round of the tournament in 22nd place.
Luke Gutschewski finished with a 150 tally after carding rounds of 74 and 76 in the first two rounds. Gutschewski knocked in four birdies on the day and placed in a tie for 35th.
Zach May was third on the team in scoring. The freshman made his tournament debut with a 78 in round one but followed it up with a three-over score of 73. May will head into round three in a tie for 38th place.
Lukas Pany and Nate Vance rounded out the teams' top-five. Pany's best score came during round one where he posted a five-over 75 tally. Vance carded a 156 (79-77) 54-hole tally and placed 47th overall.
The third round of the Big 12 Men's Golf Championship will begin Tuesday, Apr. 25 at 8:00 a.m. CT. Iowa State will tee off on the 10th hole at 9:07 a.m. CT alongside No. 24 Kansas State.
