AMES, Iowa – Iowa State track and field has two meets on deck to wrap up indoor regular season, the Arkansas Qualifier in Fayetteville and the Iowa Open in Iowa City.

ISU men will travel to the Arkansas Qualifier to compete in the distance medley relay, 4x400m, mile, 800m and 400m while 28 men and women will compete at the Iowa Open. Iowa State will begin the Iowa Open with the men's and women's high jump at 11 a.m. while the distance medley relay kicks off the Arkansas Qualifier at 2 p.m.
Cyclones rewrote the record books turning in 12 top 10 program performances, including seven in the top five at the Tyson Invite, Valentine Invite and Husky Classic. Iowa State also put up five performances that currently rank in the top 20 among the nation at the three meets while totaling 10 that have been set throughout the season.

Sophomore Rachel Joseph broke her own 400-meter school record by an improvement of .87 seconds, clocking 52.05 to currently rank No. 11 in the NCAA and No. 26 in the world. Joseph has now set or reset the record four times since her freshman season. The next day, Joseph sprinted to the second-fastest program 200m time of 24.01.
Maelle Porcher turned in the third-fastest mile time in school history of 4:37.46 at the Husky Classic, a France U23 record.
Two Cyclones broke four minutes in the mile last weekend, Silas Winders in 3:59.88 and Ezekiel Rop in 3:59.94 to become the ninth and 10th in ISU history to break the barrier. Five of the 10 individuals posting sub-4 miles have come in the Jeremy Sudbury era. Winders won the event at the Tyson Invite, staying undefeated on the season through races in the mile and 3,000m.
The Iowa State 800m squad of Darius Kipeygo, Finley Mclear, Jason Gómez and Tyler Carreon continue to rank No. 1 in the nation with an average time of 1:47.53. Darius Kipyego ranks third in the nation with 1:46.71 and Finley Mclear ranks 10th with 1:46.97. ISU is the only school with two in the top 10.
Next week, ISU turns to postseason with Big 12 Indoor Championships Feb. 23-24.
