Cyclones in Fourth at the End of Day One

MARICOPA, Ariz. - The Iowa State men's golf team began round one of the Wyoming Cowboy Classic at 9:30 am (CST). The Cyclones completed round one and began round two which was suspended due to darkness. The Cyclones had a first round score of 278.
Grand Canyon is currently in first with a score of 27-under-par. There is a three way tie for first between Krando Nishiba from Southern California, Mark Stephens from UC Davis and Yuki Moriyama from UNLV.
Luke Gutschewski leads the Cyclones sitting in a tie for 4th. Gutschewski trails the three-way tie for first by just two strokes. Gutschewski finished the first round with six birdies for a score five-under-par (67). Gutschewski has tacked on an additional four birdies through six holes in the second round. Zach May is tied for 17th after carding a first round 68 with four birdies and an eagle.Â
Paul Beauvy, Lukas Pany and Owen Sawyer are tied for 46th with a combined 11 birdies in the first round. Beauvy had a first round score of 70 with five birdies. Pany was one-over-par following round one. He has shot three-under-par so far through round two to jump up the leaderboard. Sawyer shot a first round 73 and is two-under-par through the second round.Â
The Cyclones will tee of on April 2 at 9:15 am (CST) to complete rounds two and three.Â
