Cyclones Drop One Spot After Round Two of The Prestige at PGA West

LA QUINTA, California - The Cyclones drop one spot to seventeenth after carding a 286 (+2) in the second round of The Prestige at PGA West. After two rounds, Iowa State is seven over-par (575).
Luke Gutschewski and Owen Sawyer bounced back today, both shooting one under-par. Gutschewski jumps 28 spots into the Top-50, currently tied for 50th place. The senior carded four birdies on the day and is up to seven birdies over the first two rounds. Sawyer finished his second round very strong, scoring two birdies and his second eagle of the season in his last four holes. Sawyer jumped up 25 spots and is tied for 77th.
Paul Beauvy shot two over-par today, just his fourth time this season shooting over-par in a round. Beauvy carded four birdies on the day to help him surpass the 50 birdie mark on the season (53), second on the team to Gutschewski (56). The junior currently leads the Cyclones and is tied for 42nd. Luke Metcalf also shot two over-par today, jumping seven spots to 88th, and carded three birdies on the day.
After a strong first round yesterday, Dianchao Wu carded a 76 (+5) today in the second round, dropping him to a tie for 57th place. Wu finished the round with two birdies.
San Diego leads the team race after round two, currently sitting at 557 (-11). Kansas State's Kobe Valociek remains on top of the individual leaderboard at seven under-par.
The final round of The Prestige at PGA West will be played tomorrow, where Iowa State will once again tee off in the afternoon wave. Luke Metcalf will tee off first at 1:55 p.m. CT.
