ATHENS, Ga. ? Iowa State's divers wrapped up the third and final day of the Georgia Diving Invitational today as Tien Tran and Kali Fryklund finished eighth and eleventh, respectively, in the platform diving event.
Tran, a freshman native of Greenwood, Ind., concluded a very successful weekend as she picked up her third top-ten finish in three days. Tran took tenth place honors on day one of the Georgia Diving Invitational in the 3-meter event. She followed that performance with an impressive fifth place finish in the 1-meter event before her eighth place finish today in the platform.
Fryklund also provided the Cyclones with two top-12 finishes for the weekend. On day one, Fryklund finished in 11th place in the 3-meter diving event and concluded today with an 11th place finish in the platform event. Fryklund finished 19th in yesterday's 1-meter event, but was less than eight points from making the finals.
Sophomore Haley Haynes also competed for the Cyclones at the Georgia Diving Invitational. She captured Iowa State's highest finish as she took third place in her only competition of the weekend, the 1-meter diving.
Iowa State returns to action on Saturday, January 13, as it travels to Columbia, Mo., for a dual meet with Big 12 Conference foe Missouri.
