Baker Ties For Ninth To Pace ISU At Shocker Classic

WICHITA, Kan.-- Iowa State senior golfer Chris Baker recorded his 15th top-10 finish of his career, tying for ninth at the Shocker Classic Tuesday afternoon in Wichita, Kan. Baker carded rounds of 73-70-73=216 to place in the top-10 for the seventh time this season. ISU shot a three-round tally of 885 to place sixth as a team in the 16-team field.

Host Wichita State claimed the team title with an 855, followed by second-place SMU at 864.

ISU senior Cedric Bertin tied for 15th, two strokes back from Baker at 218 (70-74-74). Ben Herrera tied for 39th with a 226 tally. Texas-Arlington's Kevin Carrigan claimed medalist honors with a 206.

ISU is back in action April 7-8 at the Missouri Tiger Intercollegiate in Columbia, Mo.
