Cyclone Men Place Ninth at Mobile Bay Intercollegiate

MOBILE, Ala.?The Iowa State men's golf team finished ninth in the 18-team field at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon. The Cyclones carded a third-round 303 for an 888 tally.

Mississippi won the team title at 877, one stroke ahead of Illinois State (878).

Sophomore Nate McCoy paced the Cyclones, recording his third career top-10 finish with a tie for sixth. McCoy ended the 54-hole tournament at even par (70-71-75=216). The Cyclones were also aided by 20th-place showings from Ben Herrera and Tom Lathrop, who carded a pair of 222s.

Middle Tennessee State's Kent Bulle and South Alabama's Jack Hiluta tied for medalist honors at 213 (3-under par).

Iowa State is back in action at the Desert Shootout in Phoenix, Ariz., March 18-20.
