ISU Finishes Sixth at First Tee Collegiate

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. ? The Iowa State men's golf team placed sixth in the 18-team First Tee Collegiate field Tuesday afternoon. ISU carded a three-round 893 tally. Southeastern Louisiana won the team title with an 865, eight shots ahead of second-place Missouri at 873.

ISU's Ben Herrera paced the Cyclones with a 218 tally in the 54 holes of competition. Herrera tied for 11th, marking the sixth time this season where Herrera finished 11th place or better in a tournament. Nathan Leary tied for 22nd at 223.

Stuart Ballingall of Missouri claimed medalist honors with a 201.

Next up for the Cyclones is the Missouri Tiger Invitational, April 12-13 in Columbia, Mo. It will be ISU's last test before the Big 12 Championships, April 23-25 in Trinity, Texas.
