AKRON, Ohio - The Iowa State men's golf team is tied for fourth out of 17 teams through two rounds at the Firestone Invitational. Iowa State recorded rounds of 284 and 292 (576), only four strokes out of first place. No. 34 Indiana and No. 36 SMU are tied for first at 572.
Freshman Scott Fernandez leads the Cyclones after carding a pair of 70s (140) to put him in a tie for fourth place at 4-under. Nate McCoy is in a tie for 15th place after firing rounds of 72 and 71 (143). Freshman Duncan Croudis is tied for 31st at 146.
The tournament will conclude tomorrow with 18 holes.
