Cyclones Set for Payton Jordan, Musco Twilight

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State men's and women's track and field teams are set for their last weekend of action before the Big 12 Outdoor Championships. Select distance runners will head to Palo Alto, California for the Payton Jordan while other members of the team will travel across the state to Iowa City for the Musco Twilight XVI.

Indoor national champion Edward Kemboi will be on the track for the Cyclones in the 800-meter run at 8:25 p.m. CT. Kemboi will have the chance to run against some of the best athletes in the country in the event, with the plan to earn a top collegiate mark. Jacob Aune, Brandon Barnes and Patrick Peterson will join him in the race.

Abby Caldwell will look to reclaim her 3,000-meter steeplechase school record at either 5:30 p.m. CT. Caldwell broke the school record earlier this season at the Stanford Invite with a time of 10:32.43, but teammate Colleen Riley bettered her time last weekend at the Drake Relays with a 10:25.83.

Senior All-American Katy Moen rounds out the meet for the Cyclones in the 10,000-meter run at 12:55 a.m. Moen ranks 13th-nationally in the 5,000-meter run and will have the chance to break into the national rankings in the 10,000-meter run by facing a plethora of professional and highly ranked collegiate athletes.

Many of Iowa State's athletes will on the Francis X. Cretzmeyer Track in Iowa City for the Musco Twilight XVI. Running events are scheduled to begin at 3:20 p.m. CT with section three of the men's 400-meter run. Kaci Storm is slated to be in the 100-meter hurdle field, with the gun set to fire at 5:05 p.m. CT.

Throwers Henry Kelley, Christina Hillman, Kayla Sanborn and Anna Holtermann are all set to throw in the shot put, discus or hammer throw events. The Women's 4x400-meter relay squad composed of Kendra White, Alyssa Gonzalez, Kaci Storm and Hannah Willms will round out action for the Cyclones at 7:45 pm. CT.
