AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State track and field team has a quick turnaround this week, as the Cyclones head to Iowa City on Thursday for the Musco Twilight. Field events at Francis X Cretzmeyer Track will begin at noon, with running events starting at 1:30 p.m. The schedule for Thursday can be accessed, here. The meet was moved ahead from Saturday to Thursday due to the anticipated inclement weather on Saturday.
The meet will be streamed on Iowa's subscription-based BTN Plus service, here, or via FloTrack's subscription-based FloPro, here. Live results will be provided by Wayzata Results, here.
The Cyclones will be taking a small squad to Iowa City on Thursday, with 10 student-athletes making the short trip to the East. The Cyclone men's group is all throwers, led by the hammer throw group of Chris Celona, Vlad Pavlenko and Brett Peters. All three had season-bests at the Sun Angel Track Classic last weekend, with Pavlenko (199-0) and Peters (177-8) both posting career-best throws. Zach Timm (shot put) and Blake Hughes (javelin) will also represent the ISU men.
On the women's side, it will once again be focused on the throwers. Tessa Krempel and Christabel Okeke both had season-best efforts last week at Arizona State in the hammer throw, while Essence Henderson had career-bests in the shot put and javelin. All will be in action in their respective events, with Keiara Williams joining Henderson in the shot put.
