Iowa State Wraps Up Fall Season At Big 12 Match Play

HOUSTON – The Iowa State men's golf team wrapped up the Big 12 Match Play Tournament today at The Club at Houston Oaks.
The Cyclones lost their first match to West Virginia, 4-1-1, this morning. Frank Lindwall and Bryce Hammer secured points for the Cyclones. Lindwall won his match, 2Up, while Hammer halved his match.
In the afternoon match, Iowa State fell to No. 2 seed Oklahoma in a tight match, 3-2-1. Sam Vincent was the big winner for ISU, closing his match out after four holes, 6&4.
Iowa State finished the tournament with a 1-4 mark, registering a victory over TCU, 3-0-3 in the Saturday morning match.
Lindwall was ISU's best performer during the weekend. The junior from Cedar Rapids was unbeaten, winning two matches and tying three others (2-0-3). Vincent went 2-2-1.
The tournament concludes Iowa State's fall portion of its schedule.
