Cyclones Wrap Up Fall Season At Big 12 Match Play Championship

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State men's golf team wrapped up their fall season with a win over No. 10 seeded West Virginia in the final round of the Big 12 Match Play Championship. The Cyclones closed out the match with a 3-2-1 victory.
Kyo Morishita and Lukas Pany gave the Cyclones their first match wins over the Mountaineers with 5&4 victories over their opponents. Paul Beauvy added another win with a 2&1 win over West Virginia's Kaleb Wilson.
During the early morning match, the Cyclones fell to Kansas State in a close match with Morishita and Nate Vance securing two wins. Jake Slocum was close to evening out the overall match but tied Kansas State's B. Stoller.
The Cyclones concluded the week with a 1-4 record and a combine team record of 7-16-7. Iowa State was led by Morishita, who finished the week with a team-best 3-1-1 record and Paul Beauvy, who compiled a 2-1-2 record.
This concludes the fall schedule for the Cyclones. Iowa State's spring season will begin on January 30 at the Arizona Intercollegiate.
